When Kiddo attack Vernita Green, Green tells Kiddo that, since putting Kiddo in a coma, killing her fiance, and supposedly causing Kiddo to miscarry, Green had become married and a mother herself, and that this had changed her, so she didn't wish to die. But it's a pretty old movie, you've had time to watch it, whatever.
